I bought a new spinning rod 2 weeks ago I got it for light spinning, lrf and dropshot fishing it's a Shakespeare gx2 ugly stik. I thought i'd give it a run out on my local reservoir and canal hoping for some pike and perch 1st up debdale reservoir with shannon
and 2nd aston canal with cole (droylsden stretch)
The fish didn't play ball but it's always good getting out with the kids and wetting a line but the fishing was bad at both venues and I really liked the ugly .
Rod review coming soon.

Love the GX2s I've got the 20 to 30 and the Uptider, now I'd like a 30 to 50 and an 8 foot spinner for the boat and a 12 to 20 and and and and......

Yeah your right I've caught loads of 2lb+ perch out of their and pike to 18lb but it's not the same water now with all the foreigners taking anything that swims and no one doing anything about it it's a real shame.
