Looking at the weather all week and waiting for a calm window me and degs decided the best night for hounds would be Friday night.
Armed with frozen crab and squid we headed of to our mark and the plan was to fish 2 rods 1 with squid and 1 with crab.
Got there and it was overcast a slight ripple on the water and the water a bit coloured. conditions perfect for the hounds degs was a bit weary but I was confident. the plan was a short 4 hour session. and what a session it turned out to be. both set up one rod and within 5 minutes we were into hounds.
Not big at 1st just small ones around the 4-5lb mark. and as the tide started to rise and started to get a run it, it was a fish a cast and the hounds getting bigger all the time.
We started getting them up to 9lb but most were around the 8lb mark. we lost count at about 25 landed 10 lost ones and a few snapped of.
Into dark ness and the top of tide it started to slow down and degs even managed a fag. One of the best sessions so far this year. going back on the next big tides still hoping for a 20lb + one.
hope you enjoyed the post. joe.
