A RHYL film based on Dyserth rocker Mike Peters is set to be shown on television for the first time on Friday.
Vinyl, directed by Sara Sugarman, who grew up in the seaside town, tells the story of how the Alarm frontman hired a group of teens to lip-synch to one of the band’s songs, and score an American top 20 hit.
It also features a host of local actors as well as former Quadrophenia actor Phil Daniels and Swansea-born actor Keith Allen.
It was filmed in various locations in Rhyl including its bus station and Lyons Robin Hood.
The film has won awards at the Newport and Santa Barbara film festivals.
Brothers Mike and Sean Walsh, who set up Dyserth-based Anglia, helped fund the film.
Sara, whose other films include Mad Cows and Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen, is a former Rhyl High School and Ysgol Bryn Hedydd pupil.
Vinyl will have its first screening on Sky Premiere on Friday and will also be shown on Saturday.
