fluorocarbon line

I have used fluorocarbon line to the hook but can any one tell me if it is any good for your main line
and if so what type of reel can you use it on f/spool or multipliers

It would cost a fortune Alan-the only real benefit of
it is hooklengths,also think its only available in
50/100 meter spools.
