| Great report and lovely set of pictures. It's a shame there was so few fish but the ones you did catch did smile for the camera. |

No mate, it's a chemical light in a permanent holder, ie a holding tube with sliding grips, easier than fussing with tape, it's a bit bulky but never seems to snag the line on casting Had a bite every drop down the wall at Holyhead, quarter inch of rag tipping shrimp rigs, hitting them was the problem, but after ferreting in my box for some very small hooks I landed a good few minis, the distance rods weren't troubled. ( feathered for mackie too but no customers ) |

| What fish is the one in the second to the last fish pictures the Ballan Wrasse being the last one. Looking at some pictures it looks like a Meargar, but I have never seen one so would not know. |

I thought it was a Gold Sinny, never heard of a Meargar I thought the last one was a female Cork Wing Wrasse. The males being more colourful in breeding plumage ?.... http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=Goldsinny+Wrasse&Form=R5FD2 But if anyone knows better please tell us, I'm not that keen on catching minis really but in the absence of much else this week it was a chance to try out the shorter spinning rod I bought at the Bodelwyddan Boat Jumble recently. Only £6 and its a better length for using on Notbad 1 than my 9 foot spinner |

| Thanks Steve, you posted as I was typing.
Trying to recall what the second Holyhead fish is, the shedding of scales ( see pic ) distinguishes it from something similar I believe |

| Can't find a Meargar on the web, is this an alternative / local name??
My search engine suggests Meerkat or Margaret Thatcher, I've done a lot of meagre fishing of late though ... |

Aw thanks Phil ! I get ( nearly ) as much fun from SunnyRhyl as actually fishing. By the way, in the first Lifeboat pic Rhyl's Lil Cunningham is on her way to assist the Flint inshore boat rescue the Dolphin from up the Dee, later they both passed as they took the Dolphin to Rhyl Flats. The lifeboat at Holyhead is a former Cemaes lifeboat being towed in, for I guess the traditional sailing event at Holyhead this weekend Which is a good enough reason to plug the Fun Day at Prestatyn Sailing Club today |

| The little one was a poor cod, they lose scales as soon as you touch them, pouting hang onto theirs a bit longer, the sea scorpion was a long-spined ,and the corkwing and goldsinney were as you already know. |

| Some great contributions there!
There's been a " lost Labrador" at pretty well every beach venue I've fished of late.
I've just added a post to sea fishing chat about sneakers gonads and sleeping Corkwings |
