We had a club match in the sunshine yesterday , a rover from Amlwch to Wylfa, with our two of each species limit it meant finding a wrasse or two to go with the 2 doggies that everyone had.
I was catching dogs on every bait I tried, even a tiny soft crab on a size 6 hook in the weed at the waters edge, but couldn`t find a wrasse to save my life. Then the last hour of the match on the flood I had eight one after the other, keeping the best 2 it was enough to take 4th place.
The top 2 bags came from Llanbadrig, with a couple of dogs and wrasse each.
I`ve never seen so many porpoises so close in, right under the rod tips, mothers and babies side by side. I even had a line bite off one of them, the ratchet went and I jumped up and nearly fell over, then realised what it was.
