Holderness gloop soup today

Well i decided to go with the other two to the Holderness we collected our bait at withernsea & decided north of with due to tide sizes parked up set off down the cliffs & Andrew went up to his leg tops Well after much side splitting laughter it suddenly became apparent it wasn't so funny after all he was well & truly stuck fast.Eventually he had to abandon his waders which wouldn't come free no matter how we tried.And to make matters worse i had also become stuck trying to get him out (that'll teach me to laugh at someone Else's misfortune) although i was no where near as deep & after getting out of my waders we managed to pull them free thank goodness.They say you cant make a good day out of a bad un but we gave it our best shot result me & Andrew blanked batey got a slug & two whiting so if anyone is heading to the holderness coast Please be aware the cliffs can be dangerous be careful

Well done for trying can you think what it would for been like if he had been on his own. Did he get his Waders back or are they gone for ever?

No we tied a rope to them & 3 of us pulling couldn't shift them so they are still there

....seriously though there are places about we should all fear to tread, could have been a less than happy outcome.

Last year on Old Colwyn beach whilst on a family walk near the low tide mark we all got stuck and with the tide flooding it was no joke !
We lost a few wellies but it could have been much worse so it just goes to show !

Hi Logger that sounded a bit hairy it just goes to show how dangerous the beach can be. It's so important to leave yourself a way out to safety no matter where you are, just a rough sea on a prom can be a killer you only have to look at those pictures of yours in that earlier post to see what the sea can be like.
