Had one of those unexpected days off today so I took full advantage and took my maccy bashing kit down to north shore Very Happy
Made my first cast at 11.30 into a chrystal clear flat calm sea with the only movement being made by the twit giving holiday makers power boat rides Evil or Very Mad
Why they have to go up down so close to the shore I don't know !!!

After a few casts I changed from a 2oz lead to a 4oz which did the trick as I landed just the one but thinking there must be more carried on for half an hour more before turning my bucket over to use a a seat to rest on while I had a butty or two, all was going well untill my bucket broke under me and I went flying backwards Embarassed
With lunch over I returned to the fishing but only managed one more mackerel and a foul hooked sand eel ! I did try going back to the 2oz weight but it didn't help.
Still two maccy was better than none and with a few chips they made a delicious tea.
All in all a perfect afternoon on the beach in the sun cheers

Ideal. Hope to do the same on Thursday (not the butty and bucket saga) and enjoy the coast and weather with perhaps a bonus fish.
Steve.
