Five juniors fished the fifth leg of CBVSACs junior summer league at Rhyl Foryd on Saturday, including new member Alex, so welcome to him.
Joker had done us proud again, with fresh peeler supplied free of charge for the kids to use. Thanks Joe!
It was hectic from the start, with Tom first in with a 36cm Flounder.
He then had a double header,
and then a treble header of Flounders
Dan found a good Flounder of 42cms which weighed 1-14-00lbs before a couple of quick double headers of smaller fish kept him in touch at the top.
Rhys found a couple of fish,
…and Hari also found one after moving away from the snags to the left of the slipway.
Alex however was still finding his feet and after a few pointers was casting to the right place, presenting his bait well and trying hard but couldn’t muster a bite.
Tom had friends leaving party to attend so we packed in at 6.30 with the match not due to finish until 7pm giving Dan the chance to snatch victory.
When we left, Tom was on 8 Flounders for 275cms, with Dan just behind on 7 for 227cms.
Dan managed to find just one more fish after we left, and although it was a belting Flounder of 44cms, weighing 02-01-00lbs, it wasn’t enough for victory as the match finished with him just 4cm behind Tom.

The final results were
1. Tom Jones, 8 Flounders for 275cms.
2. Dan Peters, 8 Flounders for 271cms.
3. Rhys Jones, 3 Flounders for 91cms.
4. Hari Vincent, 1 Flounder for 31cms.
5. Alex Andrew who unfortunately failed to catch.
As well as the cash prizes for the top 3 places, all of the participants recieved a goody bag of terminal tackle again, kindly provided for free by our junior league sponsor, Jokers Tackle of Greenfield Raod in Colwyn Bay.
