With being on nights and the mrs wanting to go to bed early i thought rather than sitting watching tv id go down the river for a few hours.
2 minutes later and im setting up 2 rods and fresh crab again 2 hook flappers 1 up 1 down.
1st cast and a bite before the 2nd one is set up. and a good size flounder.
Thinking the fish are getting better i was soon stopped in my tracks with a smaller one on the next cast.
this followed for about an hour all about the same size. i think there all a bit leaner and smaller because the pot bait trawling has stopped the last few years and the competition for food must be so more intense because the numbers of small one's is getting more every year.
anyhow i had a few more bites but not as fierce as the flounder one's and a small dab was the result.
As the tide run picked up it died a death till about an hour before high and this time a diferent bite again resulting in a small codling.
then 5 minutes later i get a big pull down and a better fish on only for it to spit the hook on the surface which looked to be in the 3-4lb bracket at this it was rods away and home 10 minutes later for a beer.
