Last night`s match at North Shore saw a cracking turn out of 27 anglers fishing, despite a few of the regulars missing this one, this was more than made up for by an influx of new and returning members, welcome to all of you!
As for the fishing, it couldn`t have been more different than the corresponding fixture last year when just a few rockling were weighed in. This time it was double and treble headers of whiting all night long, however 27 cms. seems to be a magic number, more than 90% of the ones I had were 25`s and 26`s and I think that was pretty general for everyone.
The last hour produced a few more in-size fish, and by the end, 26 of us had fish to weigh in.
Top bag on the night was 14 whiting and a doggy for 3.25 kgs.
Second was 10 whiting for 2.00, 3rd , 9 for 1.99, and 4th , 9 for 1.82.
The heaviest fish was a dog of 0.73, and best specimen was a 15 oz. dab.
