me and degs are both of this week so with the weather being at its best yesterday we decided to head west.
What with all the shite reports of the island and not to happy with catching loads of schoolies on the coast we headed for aderdaron. silly oclock in the morning. on the way down it was raining and we kept telling ourselves its going to pass and it'll be alright.
Arrived at aberdaron and had a coffee whilst the mist cleared and the rain stopped. set of down the mountain a bit slippy under foot and reached our mark which was damp and drying as we set up.
1st of it was a matter of bait as we had only brought a few crab and a couple of frozen maccie.
Straight away we had a couple of maccie and set up another rod each on the bottom.
1st couple of fish were wrasse and dogs,
then on the feathers we start getting a steady stream of small pollock around the 2lb mark.
changing to fire tips and slug go' they start getting better.
with a few pout mixed in.
followed closely by the best pollock of the day weighing in at 5lb 7oz taken on red fire tip's.
the day went on with a lot of dogs and only small wrasse and more maccie. down to low water it went quiet and as it flooded we got more small pollock until it died a death.
By now we were a bit sunburnt tired and hungry and decided to call it a day until i get a good pull down on a full maccie head ment for conger and the last fish of the day.
didnt weigh it but around 6-7lb. we carried on for anothere hour only catching more dogs and pollock with the od maccie thrown in. lovely day and in the end we probley had over 60 fish. could have put more pic's up but photo bucket's being a right pain.
