| 11 of us met at Penmaenmawr for a low water match last night, the rain eased off for us to get started, but the wind soon picked up, it was gusting enough to knock rod rests over, with the odd bucket or lid disappearing at speed. After about 3 hours we were hit by the granddaddy of thunderstorms, lightning, thunder, hailstones, the works! The wind was horrendous, with horizontal rain enough to make me and a few others give up there and then and take shelter. A few diehards held on out there though, and by 10 o`clock the weigh in showed it was worth their while. The winner, Mike Jones, had 11 dogs and 2 whiting for 11. 34 kgs., we only weigh the best 2 from each bag and return the rest, counting them as 1 kilo each. Norman was 2nd with 8 dogs, 5 whiting, a flounder, and this bass of 1.27 kgs. which took the heaviest fish prize. Ther were a few others with 9 or 10 dogs and a few whiting and all 11 weighed in, I was 7th with 7 dogs after giving up in despair at the weather. |

| A well deserved bass for sticking it out.
I'm not sure I'd stand anywhere near a length of carbon in a lightening storm though! |
