LURE FISHING FROM THE SHORE Empty
PostSubject: LURE FISHING FROM THE SHORE    LURE FISHING FROM THE SHORE EmptySat Sep 07, 2024 3:51 pm

A few times when fishing with Geoff at Llandudno we saw predators chasing small fish onto the beach:http://www.for  the sea is mostly clear we thought it was either bass or mackerel  .I have seen small silver fish on other beaches at silly o'clock in the mornings usually it was on  full moons when you could see the casts without a head lamp:shock:   when pumping bait but this was on still nights . I often thought it must be bass chasing them onto the beach  . I often wonder if any one has had any success lure fishing from the local beaches day or night . I have seen a few  of you tube videos were they fish from rock marks ,I was taken to a local mark were a bloke targeted large bass on lures and plugs he asked me to keep the mark quiet as he had caught many large bass with a couple of his mates . I fished it a couple of times but had only a few schoolies on crab he got me, I didn't see him or his mate catch any bass just the odd mackerel  but they expected it as they were targeting large bass on lures .

Years ago, but we used to get reports of bass on lures along Menai Straits. Can't recall a report from the North Wales beaches.

Not tried it much at all off the shore in the Rhyl area, might be missing a tactic!

The people I have seen lure fishing fish the clear water areas maybe it only really works in clear sea conditions. I could see it working at Llandudno as the water is mostly clear there, but I have seen the water clear over low at the splash beaches on still nights and days

Lures with a rattle might work in murkier water.

Fly fishing from the shore is something I would like to try sometime.
