| Back to Muriwai, we have not had a decent blow for a while so the water is too clean to get the fish interested. I thought a 1.2 to 1.5 swell would stir things up, but not to be. Only one bite from the front as it was getting light, another Bl--dy eagle ray, luckily only a small one at 3 to 4 kg. That is 4 times they have been my first bite. Then a lot of nothing for me and 7 others, so back down the rock to my fall back spot for when nothing is happening facing West. Straight away a good trevally about 2 Kg on a piece of trevally, cannibal. A good fish to make the trip worthwhile. You can see the iridescence on it's back, Silver trevally Only another eagle ray and a Kahawai to all the others. Experience and sheer cunning works again! |

| Yeah, I was only thinking to myself down on Rhyl Beach the other day, I do hope my first bite isn't yet another one of those flipping 3kg Eagle Rays.... _________________ we call it fishing not catching!

| Well done Rhod another good trip to a warm sunny spot and only an Eagle Ray for your troubles. What makes you think I am just a bit jealous.🤬 |
