Hi all yes I'm still alive
Had a week's holiday in the Algarve and actually went fishing for the first time in 3yrs or something like that
It was only a 4hr boat trip fishing over a reef but better than nothing
The going was hard but once I remembered what a bite actually felt like I did manage to catch a number of small Wrasse a couple of Bream and a Scorpion fish
Rod and reel was provided by the boat and wasn't anything special but to be fair when it's going to be used and abused by lots of tourists you wouldn't get anything fantastic yourself !
Bait was also provided and it was Prawn and Squid, the prawn was picked off the hook very easily and I would have loved some bait cotton but there wasn't any, the squid was a lot tougher for the fish to pinch of course but hardly attracted any bites so I was reloading bait every 5-10 minutes.
It was only a short trip but most enjoyable all the same
Only got the one photo I'm afraid.
