Fabulous. They look a bit different from British pots. Tried zooming in on the picture but could not get much detail. If you are able, perhaps a closeup shot?

"Pot shot of the month" Those big pots look a bit unusual. Any idea what they are after? Spider crabs perhaps? I am guessing the "churns" on the left would be for octopus.

A bit off topic but there is some debate over the most appropriate plural for more than one octopus, with octopuses, octopi, octopodes, octopods amongst some of the contenders. With assistance of google translate, it would appear that the Portuguese word for an octopus is "polvo", with a simpler single choice of plural of "polvos". Much more efficient these Europeans. Again with assistance of google, the Welsh word for octopuses is "octopysau", which does not sound too appetising at all. May be best to play safe and have chicken & chips.

Well I did go into a Chinese restaurant last night and had the squid which wasn't the best so I called the waiter over and said "This squid is rubbery !" To which he replied "Oh fanku very much !"

Those big traps are similar to ones used here for crayfish, or even larger ones for blue cod down south.

| Thanks Rhod. Hopefully Logger can confirm if there is lots of lagosta (lobster) or lagostim (crayfish) on the menu. Pots definitely too big for camarao (prawns).
