I've just made up a few ledger traces with circle hooks.
I saw a vid in NZ that said snelled hooks have on average a 20% better catch rate.It was quite an extensive survey.
Apparently,because the hook curls back in towards the trace line the hook is more likely to hook fish.
I used 25lb breaking strain black Amnesia line for the traces.It makes a nice neat snell knot.Swivel at one end,hook at the other.
