Another pike session

I was back on my local water today pike fishing again hoping for one
of the big girls that are in there.

I was running low on deadbaits and needed a restock
so I put an order into onlinebaitsuk (pike and sea baits deadbait lug crab etc..) on Monday and
I had my delivery on Wednesday happy days



So I've been chomping at the bit to get out and see what i could catch  
i arrived around 9:15am and had the place to myself  



I took a packet of smelt which I had left over for my last sess and a packet of lamprey and put one bait on each rod





It didn't take long before the lamprey rod got the first run of the day
Which resulted with this little fella



After I caught that pike the rain started and didn't stop



The rain got to much so I packed up around 14:00 and headed home a happy man

Result!

Lined up a Pike session before the end of the season myself, can't wait!

This is my winter pike deadbait rig  



I fish it about a foot over depth so my float lies flat
on the surface and your bait hard on the bottom.

I find it better that ledgering because you can see where the pike
is going (like mine yesterday it picked up the bait swam away then
turned around and swam towards me) and I could see what it was
doing by the direction the float was moving.
