Harry's 65th birthday.

October 27th would have been Harry Griffiths' 65th birthday, and those that knew him still miss him.

There is a Colwyn Bay Victoria Sea Angling Club competition at Tan Lan, Colwyn Bay on Saturday 4th November, which Norman Dorling has agreed to open up to other anglers who knew or were influenced by Harry.

The entrance free is £5 and booking in is at the arches before 3.30pm. Fishing is from 4-8pm.

In addition to the usual prize money, I am donating two vouchers of £50.00 each from Harry's Tackle and Bait, Rhuddlan. One is for the heaviest fish, the other for the heaviest bag.

Please support this if you can, and we can raise a glass in his memory afterwards.

19 anglers fished the Harry Griffiths memorial match at Tan Lan last night, with prizes on offer kindly donated by Harrys Tackle of Rhuddlan ( £50 vouchers for 1st place and heaviest fish ) and 18 spools of line from Rigs n Rods in Rhyl, along with 100% payout of the entry fees.

Harry used to have a tackle shop in Rhyl market and would have been 65 years old last week. Most of those fishing shopped there.

A lively sea, a crisp wind, and plenty of weed was waiting for us. A few early whiting straight from the start cheered us up, the turn of the tide had a few dogfish showing.
