Lots of travelling
Lots of fishing
Lots of laughs
Lots of aches and pains Neutral

It's a long way to the Shetlands, 700 miles and 13hrs on a ferry but if you want the best sea fishing in the UK that's where you'll need to go Exclamation

The two days fishing aboard OBERON, sailing from Cullivoe on the Isle of Yell, catching Cod and Coalfish up to 25lb with Ling up to 30lb from depths of 360 feet left myself and my six companions arm achingly shattered but with the biggest grins ever  Very Happy

THE SHETLAND SHAKERS
Liam Karl Dave Dave L Paul Ade and yours truly

2lb leads and big lures were needed  Exclamation

It got quite choppy at times  Neutral

And no report is complete of course without some................

I had the boasting rights about catching the only pollack and Liam for catching the only Torsk which is like a small Ling and a species I'd never heard of before  Exclamation
cth

The fishing was great fun, really hard work in those depths but so rewarding even though I can still feel the rocking of the boat  silent  Very Happy  Very Happy

Thanks to Paul, Dave L, Karl, Dave, Ade and Liam for making the trip such fun and one I shall never forget  thumbs up

The two Dave's did a terrific job doing all the driving  thumbs up

Thanks to Paul for doing all the organising you did a great job mate  cheers

bye

Never heard of a Torsk either!

Great pics of some big ugly brutes ( and the fish)  not sure I'd be up to hauling them up from that depth but it sounds like a great trip for sure.

I see you made 3 stars!

The lads have done Tatch and Arwel will be with them on that trip (he was sadly missed this year) I've decided not to go but hopefully there will be room for me another time Basketball
