Working in Aberystwyth; the flood was due to start about sunset but the weather forecast was a bit bleak for an after work session
Rummaging in Morrisons it wasn't the oiliest of fish baits but 35p end of day Bass fillets couldn't be turned down!
The hail was sidewise as I tackled up at the car but with a touch of evening sunshine I chanced my arm off the wooden jetty near the newly rebuilt bandstand, tipping a two hook section of shrimp rig with flags of Bass
A characteristic shake of the Bass rod and in came an obliging Whiting
I wasn't going to bother on the second evening but working by the harbour I learned they were flushing out silt by pumping it up at High and allowing the ebb to sluice it out, my theory was that it might stir up food and pull the fish in so that evening I tried the Eastern side breakwater
So much for that theory but refreshing evening's air all the same
