After Terrys success at the Point last night, I thought it would be a good place to start my own species hunt now that everythings healed, and Rhys was desperate to christen his new rod so he came too.
After a slow first couple of casts, Rhys was first to get a bite, and was first in with a small Flounder.
I found a Dab to give me a start.
Terry stood and watched his motionless rodtips.
Rhys was next in with a Dab.
Then another,
and I matched him fish for fish, but sadly, mine were all Dabs.
It got dark and we had overstayed our hometime, but we both had one last cast. I decided to drop short in the hope of a Flounder or slug, but it was Rhys who found his third species of the night, in the shape of this 5 Bearded Rockling.
I had a similar bite, so had my fingers crossed as I reeled in, only to be disappointed by my fourth Dab of the session.
There were a few rods on the railings but haven’t got any idea how they got on.
Terry must have used up all his luck last night, as he blanked, and he was using 2 rods compared to our 1 each!
