After seeing Wormys report from last night, and a surplus of crabs a short notice session at Greenfield was arranged for tonight.

Me and Terry were both after a Plaice for the species hunt, and one over 2lb would put either of us in a good position for the clubs specimen trophy for this year.

We arrived to find the spot at the end of the carpark was taken, there were also a couple of other anglers on the rocks to the left so we walked a couple of hundred yards before dropping down the rocks to fish.

We fished 2 rods each, and it was bites from the off for me on both rods.

10 minutes in and the first target of catching a Plaice was achieved. cheers
It was only small, but they all count.

I reeled in the other rod to find its twin on there, then i had a small Flounder before things went quiet over high water.

Terry was struggling, he had one bite but no fish and the sunshine gave way to dark clouds which brought a nasty shower to make the rocks dangerously slippy underfoot. We decided to pack up just after 9.

As i was tackling down my first rod, i had a touch on the one which was still out. I left it until the rain stopped, and reeled in another Flounder. This one was a bit bigger at about 1-04-00lbs.

We carefully made our way back up the rocks as the sun broke through again, leaving me to wonder whether we should have given it another half hour?

Well done to you both and theres always time for an extra half hr

Another half hour on them rocks would have probably resulted in an injury for one of us, especially as i had decided trainers would suffice tonight, not wellies or boots. Embarassed
