With a nice surf given out for Saturday ,and only being a small tide I opted to go pensarn ..joining me on this session is a life long match course angler a very good friend of mine ,we been mates since we where in our twenties .been badgering him for years to come bass fishing with me ,but he had a window this weekend ,and he was looking forward to a different challenge .joining me later on for high water ,my mate hot shot Alan to..
Arrived an hour before low had a chin wag and a brew ,it looked spot on ...then we got to work just diggin blow lug because the tide was to small for the blacks ...showed my mate the technic of diggin blow and he soon got it ,he was a natural ...
We soon got enough worm ,so set up to fish the start of the flood..first cast I lost what felt a nice bass.then two hour into the flood we where both blanking, so mid tide back to the motor beans on toast ,nice mug of tea ,to get ready for our high water sortie..then we where joined by a fellow wsf dave aka Mersey boy .nice to chat to you pal..
First two hours up to high was very poor to say the least ,Alan had a nice whiting ,I had six pin whiting think Alan ended up with about six as well .my mate Carl was blanking lol ...
My mate was disappointed to say the least as I was filling is head with bass ,saying its text book condishions they will turn up lol ,but truth was no one else had a bass at high ..I said to him they run through as the tide starts ebbing but only for a short while ,but with nothing showing at prime time one hour before high ,I wasn't optimistic .we had loads of blow left so I said to Carl this is the last cast owddd,tide been ebbing for nr one hour.so I but seven blow lug on each rod all whipped together to make a nice bloody scent.he cast is out ,I cast both my rods out ,only been in five mins ,was giving Mersey boy my blowlug so he can use it tomorrow ,hot shot had packed up and was having a quick chat with me before he set of home..looked over my shoulder and my mucker was playing a nice bass on my rod lol!! So this one a team effort ,48 cm gave it Carl so him and is wife could have a nice meal !
