To Gut Or Not To Gut That Is The Question

Been out collecting some lug to freeze these last couple of nights and some folk say they gut them by popping the heads and some say they squeeze out the whole lot 
I dont bother to do either and never have a problem with it 
Mine are pumped and frozen within 2hrs and seem as good as any other frozen ive ever seen but when i tell people of this they look at me as though im mad  
Is there a difference 
Am i going wrong somewhere 
I know a lot of you boys do this on a regular bases and any tips would be gratefully recieved cheers  

That's a good question I don't know the answer as I have never dug for Lug, but I have bought live Lug from the tackle shop and used that just as I have bought it as I do Rag. I do know when used fresh it carries a lot of juices and I would of thought by squeezing before freezing that all these juices would be removed, but all the frozen ones I buy are squeezed out or seem to be.
