Went to the island last friday,there'd been a good blow in the week and it had calmed down nicely with a good bit of colour
to the water so set up a couple of hours before high and cast out two ray baits.
The first hour produced a couple of dogs and whiting then had my first decent fish, a small thorny about 3lb
A few dogs later and another decent bite resulted in a smalleye of 6lb
This is a good start i'm thinking then the next fish out ,a 10lb huss !!
And then another at 8lb !!.
It went quiet for a bit but picked up when something decided to bend one rod over and take
some line off the drag, a decent fish with a bit of weight was on the end, it gave a couple of good
pulls and shortly after a thorny of 9lb-5 was landed.
Nothing for an hour then a small huss amongst the dogs
Carried on for a bit longer then started to break one rod down at 10.30 happy with the days session
only to look around at my other rod with it's tip bent over, another 6lb thornie !!.
Happy to call it quits after that !!, and at at last it's picking up ;D ;D
