Not had much time go fishing lately with having the kids one night on a weekend and hiting the town on the others fishing as took a bit of a back seat..work little quite at mo so quick word with my boss got a day of for a spur of the moment fishing trip .quick look at xc weather and it didn't look good with real strong south Westlies qusting up to sixty mile an hour . Would have liked to gone mostyn but tide was to big so the only other option for me for any action apart from catching slugs , aka rockling was to fish talacre for the dabs and maybe a bonus codling .fancied having a couble hours at high by the light house ,had some nice flounder from here before , but when I arrived I new it was unfishable there.as the sea was way to lumpy.
So walked back to the motor had couble cups of coffee from the cafe and chilled for a couble of hours waiting till tide had ebbed half way ..start again walked towards the green bouy , well I was blown towards the green bouy the wind was very strong blowing towards the mark .
It was a job just to set up and I was the only one there. If I lived closer towards the coast I would have sacked it but I come this way so got to be in it to win it .soon had two hook flapper in the channel with either lug ,mackerel and mussel baits all tipped with squid for the dabs ..
First two cast just loads of weed then we where of the mark with a small whiting ,the only whiting of the night
Then the dabs started coming not as hectic as it normaly is here
In the end it got to much my eyes where sore as . Full of sand box full of sand cut it short ,liked to say I enjoyed it but it was hard work just trying stand up lol. Had eleven dabs and one whiting . Prob be when the crabs peel when I next go for the plaice till next time .....
