Eels Empty
PostSubject: Eels   Eels EmptyMon May 07, 2012 12:35 pm

Just been watching a programme where eels were being caught and the anglers were a little weary of handling them the method to adopt it would seem is to cover their eyes then stroke their lateral line and the fish lays perfectly still and you can deal with it as you please without any bother also it was said about how their numbers are in sharp decline due to some parasite or other so the more which are returned safely to the water the better !

When I used fish the Shropshire union canal mate used to catch lots of eels the little boot lace ones a bit of a pain but the bigger one say over a pound you can lay them on the back and and they do relax its like magic lol!
