How much bait for a Mersey boat session ?

Most of my boat trips end up being called off, but you never know, this one might happen.

8 hour trip, cod & thornie, 1 rod, 2 hook pennel.

I am thinking one box of squid and 5 packs of frozen black. Does that sound about right ?

myself and seven (7) other anglers went through 27 packs of lug and 12 boxes of squid
like everyone says big big BIG BAITS
if its frozen what you dont use you can refreeze

I'll need to remember this next year ...

My chosen method was two lug (one on each hook), 1/3 of a razor and 1/3 of a squid, wrapped with bait elastic. I changed bait every 20 minutes.

In total I used 1 box squid, 1 pack razor, 4 packs lug.

I had spare squid and lug with me. Next time I would also take additional razor as I ran out of that.

If you prefer bigger worm baits than I was using, of course you would need to take more than 4 packs. Today the above delivered the most fish on the boat I was on.
