Went to the island on sunday afternoon for one last go at the smalleyes, there was already a couple of lads off work there, the idea being to fish
for as long as we could until the wind got too strong to fish, which wasn't long as it came in a good three hours earlier than predicted !!, so after
a couple of hours of picking up rod rests decided on a move, the lads went to penmaenmawr , i couldn't be arsed with anymore sandy stuff so looked
for a nice sheltered rock somewhere.
The only fish coming off the beach, a bass for Mike.
Found a sheltered spot on the way home and caught the last 3 hours of the flood, first bite had a small codling, another tiddler followed by three
half decent ones about the 2 lb mark, the dogs and whiting were thin on the ground, which was nice
Had two fish swallow the hooks and probably end up floaters with the height i was fishing so went home for mondays tea.
Blank avoided...thank cod !!
