Went to the island last sun, target fish was a cuckoo wrasse for the race,
spent a few hours roaming around the ranges around high but only managed
ballans and corkwings, found some nice sheltered spots on the south side
for conger for the near future
Had a go at Trearddur over low, catching gurnards, flattys, pout, codling,
rats and doggys, no cuckoo or goldsinneys though.
A few pics
Went to the ranges again last night after conger, ended up with the usual
pout, poorcod, small pollack, rats and dogs, had three small bootlaces, the
largest being 10 cms to short for the race
Stopped at a beach for high on the way home in the hope of a small eye,
bumped into Steve and Andy who had fished it down and had a few, which
gave me a bit of hope, nice to meet you fellas.
Didn't get a knock until an hour before high (tides a bit small me thinks)
but the first bite had a small turbot landed.
A better bite had a ray on, this could win the race i thought as it came
splashing in the shallows, picked it up....a thorny..b*****d..already had
them, i needed a smalleye, first time i've ever cursed a ray
Had three thornies in all, two small one and one half decent
No smalleye on this occasion so packed up and home for 4.00 am
looks like the titles yours Pondy lad, well done mate (next time
)
