Hopefully there'd be time for some R&R between drinks.

end of the pier show?

Brighton seemed to be full of places where it's OK to get your tackle out

Session One
I headed for the Marina's Western breakwater for a couple of hours

Brighton -you can keep your hat on Brighton017

float fishing only rule just applies to the end
Brighton -you can keep your hat on Brighton019

and you can't fish the inside

Brighton -you can keep your hat on Brighton018

The Eastern breakwater is quieter but parking is more difficult,

Brighton -you can keep your hat on Brighton020

Over Low the easier access Western arm wasn't too crowded

Fishing 2 rods costs a fiver.

Float fished a sabiki rig tipped with half inch bits of rag on the bass rod

and full rag hugged the sea bed at close to medium range on my new travel rod, a 7 section, 10 foot Geotrex spin
teamed with my latest reel, a Shakespeare from Foxons - comes complete with 4 spools, only
one is deep but loaded with a variety of lines I'm dressed for a range of light fishing.

Rain hats on for a bit of unexpected drizzle but a flat sea.

To my left a solitary slug came ashore for Graham over from Pembrokeshire

to my right a lot of noise but no fish.

The new kit blanked,

but dropped down the triangular cutaways the float returned a dozen scorpion including a triple header.

Session Two
Friday morning, a go over High to set me up for the long drive back to Rhyl battling with the pre-bank holiday traffic

Brighton Breezy, sun hats on, the wind had picked up and sloppy conditions over High raised hopes of bass and drenched the unwary.

This time the bass rod offered a 3 hook flapper, with a full monty of rag, 70 pence peelers ( from the "Famous Tacklebox" on West Quay)
and Asda mackerel'
-but blanked,

Meanwhile slivers of mack' spun on the sabiki rig kicked off the travel rod's career

Just enough mackerel showed for sport,
job done I headed for the shoals trying to keep their hats on queueing around the M25

Nice report there mate. It makes me a bit home sick as that was my local coast when I lived down south. As a matter of interest the big round stacks that the marina wall is rumoured to be hollow and is a farm for Lobster and crab. Some great bass fishing off of there, well there used to be. Don't know about now.

No Steve I used a jif lemon 15 ft tract weighted and let it go with the tide around the deep gulley past the old toilets. Mackerel head and guts at dusk or dawn. Those were te days. bounce
