High tides and black lug

Super high tides (and lows)on saturday.
Should be plenty of Black Lug available in the following days.
Or,if you are energetic,get pumping.

Prompted by VB's post I took a look at the tide tables and at 9.9 metres High Water at Liverpool at 11am this morning it looked like there was a good chance of a River Dee Bore about at about 9am.

Wasn't disappointed!

Great pic,am I right in presuming that the Bore goes all the way to Chester?
Is the bridge in the pic at Queensferry?
I believe the very first tide tables and instuments were in The Dee estuary off Hoylake.

Just back from a walk at New Brighton. The tide there was almost all the way round Fort Perch. No sand visible anywhere. I have not seen it that high there before.

I think so. My guess is picture was taken stood in front of Shotton Clocktower.

Location confirmed, the bore builds just seaward of the railway bridge ( Shotton)
Initially calms a little, then gets all excited as it reaches the Queensferry road bridge.

Depending on tide, air pressure, wind and water flowing down the river the bore can overtop the weir in Chester.
