O What a Day Empty
PostSubject: O What a Day   O What a Day EmptyWed Sep 21, 2022 2:33 pm

Tuesday 20/09/2022. A fantastic day out on the new boat we cruised out about 7 miles from Rhos to just behind the first set of wind turbines, plenty of fish about, the first drop on the feathers pulled in 3 whiting good to catch but sometimes can be a nuisance level getting to the bait before any other fish get a look in but not today the whiting were closely followed by the mackerel and they kept coming round throughout the day a good 20 eaters and we have filled the freezer with 80 or more for winter bait, we used some of the whiting and mackerel on the big hooks however the biggest thornback was caught on quid by Paddy photo below between us we pulled in 13 thornbacks they were also taking the whiting and mackerel and so were the Bull Husses again  a good haul of them lost count around 12, on the paternoster with tiny hooks using small pieces of lugworm and squid produced more whiting, 3 gurnard 7 dabs and lots of dog fish it was one of those days with every drop produced a fish of some kind. It's fair to say this place has been marked on the chart plotter.   The sun was shining it was a flat as a pancake a perfect day out fishing on the Irish Sea.
