| Based on having a pier that only goes over the sand, I am not confident the "fishing platform" will actually reach the sea. |

| The original Victoria Pier (316 ft long and 40 ft wide) was built in 12 months in 1899. Now it takes 18 months to pile up some rocks just a few feet from shore. Progress |

Ok,you're on. Looking at the pier pics,it looks like the platform will be about another 40mtrs out to sea than the old prom road. Looking back at the construction of the Holyhead breakwater, they used wooden piles, and then rocks.(which surprised me) The thing is,the councils are taking note that sea fishing from the shore is important enough to consider for tourism. |

| The task of making a platform at splashpoint Rhyl is easier than we think. 40 tonnes of crusher run (4" to dust) spread over the new rocks would get a flat platform about 30mtrs wide.Once rollered flat,it would be rock solid. That would extend further out to sea than the old splashpoint by the distance that the new rocks extend to. Crusher run is the base that is used for new roads, the pieces lock in and fill gaps, and the smaller pieces roll in and complete the base. |

https://historypoints.org/index.php?page=the-mulberry-restaurant-and-bar Here we go round the Mulberry bush- In the documentaries,It's never mentioned that some of the docks were built in Conwy, they only mention they were built further north. I believe they submerged the docks and refloated them when they had the plans and dates for the invasion confirmed. They kept them submerged so they weren't spotted by enemy aircraft. They must have had to go out past the sandbanks in the Conwy estuary to submerge the ones built there. Good bit of researching there NB. |
