Squid

I've never tried fishing for them in N wales,and never heard any reports of them being caught.
Are there any in our area?
I was wondering if it would be worthwhile sticking a rod in a holder on the boat,with a Squid jig on it,and letting it fish for itself.

I caught one once years ago fishing from Llandudno pier at night it was foul hooked it was about medium size I was using large lug baits for codling
