Fuel pump Empty
PostSubject: Fuel pump   Fuel pump EmptyFri Jun 12, 2020 11:54 am

Had a real pain with my 25hp Johnson,I ordered a new fuel pump for it from China, and although their ad said it was suitable for my engine,it turned out it was the wrong one.Because of the time lapse,it was too late to return it.
I've just got the correct one in the post.I had to use the American Johnson sites to find out the correct part number.
Anyone buying stuff for their engines from China would be well advised to check the American part numbers first.
The other (wrong pump) fitted, and the engine ran,and ticked over nicely, when I gave it some throttle it spit back before it revved up.
When I looked at the clear inline fuel filter there was very little fuel passing through it.
Let's hope the new pump is the answer to a fishermans prayer. lol!
