| Venue - 1st Mostyn then Flint Bait - Fresh Lug I received a text this morning at 8-30am from Craig, asking did i fancy a trip out today, which was back on because his wife decided not to go out. So armed with the New Shakespear 12' rod and reel to match we made our way. Its the first time i've been here, and on Headwyns advice to go at low water we arrived. What was to follow was awesome!!!!! First cast for me " fish on ". Craig had this for a starter Fish nearly every cast. And they just kept coming. So having spent just under an hour there we decided to try Flint at High. Craig was first in with two Eels, one of which was a beauty. Once again fish everycast Craigs last cast brought to the bank this Fella ( Ling i think ). A great day out with a good friend. Got a good soaking at Mostyn, but the fish made up for that. Fish total was Craig with 7 Codling and 4 Whiting at Mostyn and 2 Eels and 1 Ling and 5 Whiting at Flint. Fish total for me was 4 Codling and 4 Whiting at Mostyn and 8 Whiting and 3 Codling at Flint. |

| Great report and photos.
Well done on all the fish, especially all the Codling which are a good sign.
The ling isnt, its a 5 bearded rockling ( must be related ) and you are guarenteed to see lots more of them over the winter. True ling are found in deep water and are only occasionally caught around some of the marks around Anglesey and down the Lleyn off the shore.
I might have to try Flint for a big Eel this week, thought they would have all moved out by now. Good to know. Thanks. |

Hello Walski. I always use a Flat weight as the Grippers go deeper into the mud when retrieving. I hope this helps. |

No problem Walski. If you need to know anything just ask on the forum, as there are some very switched on people on the site. Your like myself, i do alot of Fly-fishing as well. Tight lines mate. Steve. |
