November

This was actually caught late October, but I did not get home till the 3rd and did not get the photos untill mid November, then 2 weeks in hospital with a badly broken leg leaves us with today. I should explain that in the Pacific any fish caught belong to the boat, any marlin under 100 kg are tagged and released. The rules of this competition are 100 points for a tagged marlin, or 1 point for each kilo of weight, so we had no option but to take it. It went to the town and was cut up for the locals, so not wasted.

The man in the blue shirt is the Vavaú game fishing club official weighmaster, the other a local who helped get the fish from boat to scales



Sorry about the rain on the lens, 218 KG Blue Marlin on 24 kg line, 3 times my weight, and that was after 6 hours on the deck of the boat



I put this in as well, to show it in it's natural element if a tad restrained.
