Hi all, I’m thinking about buying a longer continental style beach rod. I’ve been looking at the Tronixpro range, but the choice is bewildering. Does anyone use these rods and if so which on would you recommend. All help welcome. 🎣🎣🎣

Can't offer you any comment on Tronixpro but I did use a continental style 18 foot Longbeam for a while, it suited my unsophisticated casting style.

You do need a tall tripod and have to stand further back to watch the tip or get a crick in the neck!
Propping the rod on promenade rails ends up in obstructing passers by.

One other thing is are they 3 equal sections? The Longbeam  was 3 sections of just over 6 foot and was  easier to get in the car than some shorter rods of unequal sections.

The ability to have the tip up very high helps keep line out of the water which is handy when there is weed about.

Happy buying

Thanks Notbad, I never thought about the length of the rod if fishing at splash point I’d have hoards of angry cyclists and dog walkers snarling at me.😂😂

I had a tronixpro viper and loved it but I wanted something
with a bit more backbone so I got a vercelli Unabomber which
can cast a big bait a lead a decent distance.

If you want something for a 4 to 5oz lead and bait the viper is a cracking buy
and if you need something with a lot of backbone the Unabomber
is well with a look. cyclops cyclops

I bought a long continental rod from a French sports supermarket in Stockport about 7 yrs ago.used it twice at Connah's quay and twice rock fishing on the Anglsea.
I found it too cumbersome to use,and like Paul said, watching the tip gave me a crick in the neck.
I never tried it beach fishing, which is probably what it was designed for. It's not been out of it's bag for about 4 years.
You'll know the sports supermarket Stevo,Old age is creeping in and I have forgot the name. lol!
I don't frequent the place any more, the stuff wasn't up to scratch, and they upped the prices.

Hi all, I think I have narrowed my choice to just two rods. Having read the pros and cons of very long continental beach rods, I have been looking at the Penn Rampage 13 ft and the Shakespeare k2 extreme 14 ft twin tip. Anyone got experience using these rods.

Cheers Gronant Paul 🎣🎣🎣

I don't want to bore people with my ailments Dave, but I have arthritis in my big toe, plus, the main reason I have trouble walking is that I have a gall stone, which causes me to collapse when it plays up.
Believe me pal,I'd love to be out there with you guys,it does my head in just being a PC fisherman.
I'm hoping after the gall stone is removed I'll get back to normal.
You never know,I might come and outfish you next year. lol! beer
