Not heard much lately on mackerel,are they plentiful from a boat at the moment?
When I get my boat out for the first time it will be for checking and testing it,and anchoring techniques etc.
I thought we might take a couple of rods and just do a bit of mackerel fishing.

Not many coming off the shore yet (locally at least) but I believe the boats are landing a few fish

i was out a couple of weeks ago, I was not looking for them but the buggers took my bait off the bottom so I had to keep um Smile

Seems to be a lot more bass close in this year,maybe the conservation plan has changed the pattern.
Either that,or Dave has caught and released too many bass, lol!
