| After a great day onboard suveran 2 yesterday with the lads today was father and son time Me and Cole had a few hours on our local water this afternoon. Cole was using his pole with sweetcorn as bait while i was using 2 rods on a pod and bite alarms and boilies for bait With his first drop down he only went and caught a lovely fat mirror carp 30 mins later it was 1 carp each with 1 of my alarms going screaming off which ended up being this common carp for me They were the only 2 fish we caught but we was well happy with them. |

| Hi Steve, I fished it 40yrs ago when it belonged to MCTD (Busses) Am I right in thinking it's the pool on the right when you come down from Hyde road? If it is, they have done wonders with the fishing platforms and access. I dived (sub aqua) in the one next to it(on the left side of the road)and got a load of golf balls out of it. I ran a radio controlled boat on it (petrol) as well. when I dived it,it had absolutely no weed in it,just silt,if you were too near the bottom it disturbed the silt and you couldn't see a hand in front of you. A few years later when I ran the radio controlled boat on it,it was jammed with weed. Maybe before your time, but I remember them stocking the bottom reservoir with trout. There used to be some nice chub near the overflow near the concrete ramp at the top end. I believe there are some big cats in it now. Happy days,Haha. |
