I was back on the canal today with 2 mate's Ben and Ant
after pike and perch. Normally I fish Ashton canal because
it's the closest to were I live but today we headed up to
Romiley canal which I've never fished so I was looking
forward to going  Rock on

It took us a while to find the fish but we got there with this little perch
hitting my lure cth

After catching that perch I set Ben & Ant up with Texas rigs and it didn't take
long for some more perch cheers

That's a great lure session!

I was sure the spelling on that sign was wrong, I was sure it should be an a in the middle

Those Perch look nice and healthy, some nice pics, and no supermarket trolleys lol!
I wonder if there any biggies in there. They must all have parents and grandparents.
You seem to have cracked it with the lures,
I fished the Marple canal up towards the A6 about 10yrs ago,the American crayfish were massive.
They say the Perch eat them.
Your lures look like young crayfish.

I think some big perch will be in there because
small roach were everywhere fish
I know perch and pike feed on crayfish so
rather than use a fish looking plug which
they probably see all the time I thought
i'd use something a bit different Rock on

Depends on size of the lure mate but I normally use anything from a 1/0 to a 3/0
when I'm using the Texas rig as for using jig heads It's anything from a size 1 to 2/0 thumbs up

That's brilliant Steve,thanks.
I'll get some of those offset weedless worm hooks and have a bash.
Looks like these are the new trend,a lot more convenient for predator fishing.(and economical.)
Cheers Pal. lol!
