I am trying to remember where the old dump/land fill site was that used to be on the banks of the Clwyd somewhere between Rhuddlan and Rhyl I think..
I recall being taken flattie fishing by an Uncle about 40 years ago, and his favourite spot was accessed by driving through the landfill site down to the river, and for nostalgic reasons I would love to be able to find it again...

Do you perhaps mean the old dump underneath where Marsh Tracks now is? this is at the end of Marsh Road adjacent to the recycling centre.
A wander around there provides various access points to the river, though we have debated in the past the limit of "sea fishing" upriver.
There are a good few reports on here of Flattie fishngthe upstream side very close to the blue bridge and not as far up river as you might be recalling ( checkout ones by Headwyn in particular)
If there was another landfill site it's before I lived here
