I just love big girls

With the weather being terrible over the last
few days I didn't think I was going to wet a line
this weekend until I woke up this morning and
there was no wind or rain

So off to the bullshead for a bit of deadbaiting for pike
I forget how much tackle you need when coarse fishing
with all the nets , rods , chair , bags etc.. you
need a tranny van to move it all





My bait for the day was frozen smelt and sprat's  



For the first couple of hours the fishing was slow until
one of my floats suddenly disappeared FISH ON!

And what a fish it was weighting in at 17lb 8oz







She was very fat and must have been feeding well  



I packed up just before 1:00pm as the wind picked up
and the rain started but I went home a very happy man

I reckon it will get better as the weeks go by.The ladies will be fattening themselves up ready for the breeding season, ready for egg production.
The jacks follow them round hoping to do the deed.
She looks in nice condition,must be a healthy water.
