Apologies its a bit late!
Myself, Old Gregg, James and Munch
Headed down to Perch rock to fish a few hours down in to the night and 1 hour up. Weather was decent, clear skies and hardly a breeze which is always nice. Set up, had walk back to car as I left tripod.....
Anyhow bites from the off, tiny coddo's to Old Gregg and flatties, myself it was whiting and one Rockling but they were coming thick and fast. Fishing one rod each and quite close so a bit strange I didn't get any flatties. I did get a couple of big whiting that were eaten...but not by us..
Not long after we arrived a guy was strolling around and asked us how we were doing, strange accent, German teacher at a local school he said. Anyhow, once he saw we were catching he was hooked
. He ended up staying with us into darkness, helping with the torch when we were unhooking etc..he was loving it. Gave him a few big whiting and he was over the moon, he left when I think he couldnt take the cold any longer. He was looking at recipes and needed to know the German name, apparently its vhiting (dunno about the spelling and haven't checked but thats what he said) made me chuckle
Off he popped into the darkness, wouldn't surprise me if he is there fishing himself this weekend. Here he is asking questions like a pro, he was a propper sound fella too.
A ship
Old Gregg holding the Rockling
So a good session had, shame about the Liverpool traffic (match on) as we would have had longer fishing. May pop down again this weekend.
