With a patch of lovely weather and some time on my hands, I decided to head to my hometown for a spot of species hunting.
I arrived on Llandudno pier with a few hours to high tide, so decided to try for some min species dropped down between the pier and jetty on my spinning rod with size 6 hooks and line wrapped around pebbles and secured with electrical tape (works a treat and saved a few leads
).
I was soon into some small corkwing wrasse
Then had a cracking bite which took me into a snag, but the pebble trick worked and up came a lovely 1lb 4oz ballan wrasse (which didn't half put a bend in my little spinning rod !
)
After about an hour I put out the main rods at distance and it wasn't long until the usual supects started feeding !
Along with a few small codling up to 3/4lb
It was quite a busy session and I had to put one rod away as I was getting knackered !
Ended up with 10 corkwing wrasse, 1 Ballan Wrasse, 9 doggies, 7 codling and 2 whiting. I don't mind sessions like that !
