| Venue - Notbad Gully, Rhyl Tide - Low Time - Day Bait: Week Old Lug, Frozen Mackerel Date - 15th August 2009
With today marking the start of the 2009/2010 Premiership season, it was quite fitting for me to find a football bobbing about in the Notbad gully. I'm not sure if the colours will prove to be prophetic or not. Time will tell!!!!!!
I had a pack of Sticky Lug which meant that i'd be on a Dab hunt today. I blew the dust off my trusty 3 hook flapper and fished half worm on 2 and a small Mackerel strip on the other. The strong South Westerley greatly improved my casting performance.
As the Notbad Gully filled, weed became an issue. Large clumps were breaking my gripper out and carrying my rig towards Prestatyn. I did manage a fish though! A Weever was lurking on my bottom hook having taken a shine to the Mackerel.
With the pressure now off and the tide pushing me back across the final gully, I decided to head to the outflow pipe. Having walked along the pipe and whacked out another wind assisted cast, I was now a good 200yds out. Surely this was going to produce?
Sadly, the increased range only led to an increase in weed! So much so, that after one final, fruitless cast, it was time to call it a day.
Happy Days!!! |

| A Mars bar, rest and play. It doesn't get better than that.
-Unless it's a silver bar. |
