Splish Splash I Was Taking a Bath

In the world of sea fishing you have the quick the wet and those that have wellies
Or at least you do at Splash Point

Andy Lee and Longranger were the quick, Ade and Arty were the wet and Fairziff Notbad Mehmet and myself had the wellies

I got to the mark just in time to see Notbad setting up next to Mehmet, the two Andy's were already there with lines in the water and Mike was just behind me followed by Ade and son.

I've never fished here before over high water and didn't realise that today's tide would cover the area below the sea wall as much as it did, I think it took most by surprise as the sea lapped over the rocks at ankle depth covering Ade and Art's feet.
The two Andy's had correctly anticipated the incoming peril and had retreated to the safety of the railings on higher ground
Us members of the wellie brigade got away with it  

During the time of the departure of the Andys and the wet feet of my fellow anglers I managed to land a nice little Dab
Ade had a pin Whiting and Arty despite his brave but fruitless efforts to stay dry unfortunately blanked

Shortly afterwards on my left Paul was into a small Codling followed by a Pin Whiting a cast or two later

Ade and Art with wet feet left for the comfort of home after this and I heard along the grape vine that Andy Lee, who was sporting his brand new forum hoody, had caught a Dab

As the tide was ebbing I moved up to join Andy and Andy for the last half hour at the railings which turned out to be about an hour and a half chatting and blanking joined by Squidward and dog who came for a chat, great to see you Terry

A great day out such as this proves you don't need to catch copious amounts of fish or indeed any at all to enjoy yourselves as long as you have the company which we certainly did have

Had I taken my species count card I've have added a Codling and a Rockling to my tally yesterday!

Great to be joined by Tina's daughter and again her fellah Rob who had himself a Dab or three and a pretty enough Codling to boot

Really nice to get out and in such great company.
My whiting spared my blushes, but it was more than just that.

Great report, making me wanna get out and cast a line at splash tomorrow for a few hours! Got some frozen blacks and squid, so may well have to give it a go.
